The largest sea aquarium in Europe is built in the old port of Genoa.
Penguins in the Aquarium of Genoa
Here 70 reservoirs contain more than 6000 animals and fishes. Through the large glass in the well illuminated aquariums we observed dolphins, sea-lions and penguins - under and above water.
Jellyfishes, various fishes, humming-bird and small crocodiles, the jungle of Madagascar - you can see a lot there!
The old port of city along with the new exhibition complex and with the lighthouse La Lanterna became the new symbol of city.
Since the 15
th century is the lighthouse of Genoa visible at a distance of more than 30 nautical miles.
After visiting of Aquarium we waited extra for darkness in order to make photographs of the evening port.
It seems, the time was spent not in vain. Old port (Porto Antico) appears in the evening illumination as in the fairy tale.
